Visit Hua Mei, the only giant panda cub in the United States. She's playful, cute and very rare. Adventure through the wilds of central Africa in Ituri Forest. Then, journey through the Asian Jungle at the Rain Forest Aviary. And, look closely for your chance to interact with cheetahs, toucans, camels, tree kangaroos and much more.
Operation Hours*:
- San Diego Zoo is open 365 days a year.
- Spring hours: 9am - 4pm (grounds close at 6pm)
- Summer hours: 7:30am - 9pm (grounds close at 10pm)
Tours Available:
- Guided Bus Tour: A 35-minute tour on a double-deck bus covering most of the Zoo. Kangaroo Bus Tours: Ride all day; hop on and off at seven different bus stops. Skyfari Aerial Tram: Take an airborne shortcut over the treetops to the other end of the Zoo and enjoy spectacular views of the Zoo and surrounding Balboa Park (children under 8 must be accompanied by adults).
- Themed Tours: The Zoo and Park offer a variety of seasonal, themed tours. Depending upon when you visit, we might be featuring themed tours like "It Began With A Roar," "Walk On The Wild Side," "Passport to Asia," or "Breakfast With The Big Guys." Tours are designed for ages 12 and up; fees vary, but most are $12-$15 per person for Zoological Society of San Diego members - non-members are welcome but must add admission fees.
- VIP Tours: Take a 2-1/2-hour tour with a guide and explore behind-the-scenes areas in a private cart or bus. We'll customize the tour to meet your special interests as much as possible.
