Behold majestic California condors at the San Diego Wild Animal Park's all-new experience, Condor Ridge. Journey aboard the Wgasa Bush Line Railway for a breathtaking view of more than 3000 animals. Then take a safari adventure through the Heart of Africa where you'll experience cheetahs up-close and have the chance to hand-feed giraffes.
Operation Hours*:
- The San Diego Wild Animal Park is open 365 days a year.
- Spring hours: 9am - 4pm (grounds close at 5pm)
- Summer hours: 9am - 8pm (grounds close at 10pm)
Available Tours*:
- Experience the safari of your life on one of our Photo Caravan Tours. Safari trucks take you into the heart of our large animal enclosures, where you get an up-close-an-personal look at the free-roaming animals of Africa and Asia. Prices for the caravans range from $85 to $105 per person ($70 to $94 for members), depending on the length of tour.
- The Zoo and Park offer a variety of seasonal themed tours. Depending upon when you visit, we might be featuring themed tours like "It Began With A Roar," "Walk On The Wild Side," "Passport to Asia," or "Breakfast with the Big Guys." Tours are designed for ages 12 and up; fees vary, but most are $12-15 per person for Zoological Society of San Diego members -- non-members are welcome but must add admission fees.
Location & Directions
- From Stake Route 163 (downtown San Diego) proceed to Interstate 15 to the Via Rancho Parkway exit. Go east and follow signs to the Park.
- From Interstate 5 (Orange County, Los Angeles), take the State Route 78 east exit at Oceanside, proceed east to Interstate 15 south, exit at Via Rancho Parkway and follow the signs to the Park.
