Weather and Geography

Madrid is the capital of Spain, located in the heart of the peninsula. The weather in Madrid is typically dry and it doesn't get as hot as you might imagine, mostly due to the low humidity levels. However the city does get pretty hot in July and August, when temperatures get up to 100 degrees and there are some occasional rain showers. In the winter it can be pretty cold, but it's a great time to visit the city because the crowds will be smaller and the rates will be less expensive.
