ORLANDO Destinations > Florida >Orlando

Orlando vacations are vacations that last a lifetime. There's nothing like this city full of exciting, thrill-packed theme park adventures and if you want a little down time, there are many hidden treasures just waiting to be discovered. Walt Disney World® Resort boasts four theme parks, limitless restaurants, nightclubs and tens of thousands of hotel rooms (not to mention a little magic and enchantment). At Universal Orlando® Resort you'll find two amazing theme parks with rides and attractions that challenge all of your senses. This is the perfect vacation for everyone in the family.

Weather and Geography

Orlando is located in central Florida and although the weather is typically sunny and warm, it's not out of the ordinary for a rain shower to occur in the afternoon or evening. The storms don't last too long and there's plenty to do indoors so if they do occur, it won't ruin your vacation. Average summertime highs are usually around 90 degrees and winter high temperatures average about 70 - 80 degrees.

Quick Facts

  • The Atlanta Braves call Orlando their spring training home.

  • All Walt Disney World® resort pools have unique themes about them. Some have twisting slides that are especially fun for the kids. Others have sand bottoms so you wouldn't even know that you are miles away from the nearest beach.

  • Universal Studios® offers two theme parks--Islands of Adventure® and Universal Studios Florida®.

  • Giraffes, elephants and lions roam on 110 acres in Disney's Animal Kingdom® Theme Park.

  • Hard Rock Hotel® at Universal Orlando® Resort has the only pool in Central Florida that offers an underwater sound system. You can jam to your favorite song above the water as well as below.
