Sanderson
50 Berners Street
London United Kingdom W1T 3NG
A lavish Urban Spa in the heart of London's West End, Sanderson offers a retreat from the bustle of the city into a world of fantasy. The landmarked 50s building has been transformed by Philippe Starck into a surreal Cocteau-like dreamworld with a lushly landscaped interior courtyard garden, world-class gourmet restaurant by Alain Ducasse, and the extensive facilities of the renowned Agua Bathhouse.
Sanderson epitomizes a new luxury that is smart, pared down and tempered with a healthy dose of wit and irony—in short, a hotel with modern sex appeal.
In the world of hotel guestrooms, Sanderson's are truly unique and groundbreaking. Designed without interior walls, the bathroom and dressing room are instead encased in a glowing floor-to-ceiling glass box that is wrapped in layers of sheer curtains. With the removal of inner walls, the room has been opened to create a loft-like plan.
Wildly romantic, sensual and dreamlike, the 150 guestrooms feature silver-leafed sleigh beds, a rug inspired by Voltaire's handwriting and oil paintings of soothing landscape scenes that are hung, unexpectedly, on the ceiling.
Rollaway beds are available for an additional price, payable directly to the hotel. Cribs are complimentary based on availability. Non-smoking rooms and handicapped rooms are available upon request at the hotel. There are no children's rates at this hotel. Minimum age to check-in is 21 years of age. Standard rooms are assigned on a Run of House basis.

At some 80-feet in length, Sanderson's dramatic, glowing onyx Long Bar is the focal point for energy at Sanderson. The beauty of Long Bar is that anyone can visit at any time, which proves to be rare for such a glamorous and well-known hotel bar. Long Bar is light, white and airy and oozes freshness and cleanliness.
The Purple Bar, with its veritable symphony of purples, lavenders and violets, is a chic and intimate lounge that has become one of London's hottest gathering places. Draped in violet silk opera curtains, and furnished with lavender Queen Anne chairs, purple etched Venetian mirrors, and a bar that looks like an enormous meteorite just fallen from the sky, the wildly theatrical Purple Bar feels straight from the pages of Alice in Wonderland—a quality that makes it the perfect setting for drinks, conversation and people-watching.
